Ok, there is some bullshit going on in this thread already. No, this is not overreacting. A Glock 17, while being a common firearm for police departments, does have a grip that is on the larger side. And yes, that does affect you when trying to accurately fire it. If they are going to require she carry a gun, then one that she can safely and accurately use needs to provided. Not every discrimination suit is bullshit.

I knew of this case for a while, from memory she was right because there were alternatives that were free and available and no tactical advantage of the glock, hence they used it as a way of forcing her out.

cant remember exactly (its been going on for years i think) but i seemed to remember her case had merit

This sounds like the exact opposite of discrimination to me. These women are failing on their own merits using standardised equipment.

Where do we draw the line? What if someone wheelchair-bound wants to be a cop and files a discrimination lawsuit when they're denied?
