The biggest problem with this is that many men are still being jailed for crimes they're not committing. This is another registry that can be used to basically ruin men's lives if the women in their lives feel like doing so, and many women already do it.

If they're going to do something like this, it needs to be severely restricted to only those who are actually convicted for the crime. Not just anyone who winds up in jail for it.

Law's that pay no attention to the realities of the world only end in disaster and problems worse than they were purported to solve. The democratic system needs a large chunk of good faith on the part of those involved to be successful, else rot will set in that ultimately causes its demise. Advocacy and politicking are an integral part of our system, however too much of anything can kill you.

None of my points are satisfied in this law and history will back on this in disgust. I am glad I do not live in MA, they've lasted 500 yrs but the next 500 looks grim frankly.

mandate a first offense charge of assault and battery

i'm not sure if this is good or bad

Are people accused of harassment or other lesser offenses disqualified from domestic violence charges or are they automatically charged with assault and battery when they did no such thing?
