When you fail in online dating (instagram, tinder etc..) you are given advice to cold approach women in public, that way you can supposedly get a date or potentially a relationship.

Most of this is parroted by older generations who have no clue of the modern dating landscape and young "redpilled' men. But i've always found issues with this method. Only time i could realistically say this could work is in school.

First off many women on the internet say they don't want to be approached in public by random men. This of course is dismissed by tradcon women and PUAs as it's only the internet and internet is obviously not real life, you should learn game all day and go gym to get the girl of your dreams in a random bar or in the city square.

The issue that's bugged me the most and dettered me from approaching is what if she has a boyfriend/partner/fuck buddy/ overly jealous ex. Chances are more than half of women have some kind of relationship/situationship. That's at best, half the pool of women you could ask is automacally eliminated. How can you even tell them apart, single from those in a relationship, unless you know them from social media and you know they most likely don't have a relationship.

And girls always go out in groups or in pairs, rarely you will see one alone. Let's say you approach a group of 3 in a park bench, because you've spotted one you supposedly find cute and wanted to come and say hello. What can you even talk about with strangers and how do you even go about revealing your intention that you wanted to get to know one of them. Isn't that going to embarras her in front of her friends if you aren't at least somewhat attractive. They would laugh and you would be left all the more confused about what to do next, and you just say your goodbye that was that.

How many should you approach before you call it quits? A lot of guys claim it becomes funny after a few rejections, but i disagree, i think it will just make you more miserable. Is it really worth 99 rejections for 1 date? And that's in a best case scenario due to the sheer number of competition you are up against.

What about poisoning the well? I live in a city of 30-40 K people. If you play the numbers game eventually you will literally exaust your options. You won't have no new girls you can approach. There's only so many 18 - 20 year old girls. Older girls don't want you since women on average like older guys. What if you become known as the creep that asks out everyone? (Just ask out every female theory)

Lastly the place of the approach? Gym - off bounds that much is clear. Work - good luck if it's a rejection. Club/Party - There's a ton of guys, competition is through the roof. The only sensible place is outside in public but you're at a risk of being called a creep or annoying, maybe it could get you into trouble.

Maybe i have left out something, but i think that covers it. Personally i've cold approached only in groups years ago, and the results were we would just talk for 15 minutes until we went our separate ways. I've never went cold appoaching by my own. Warm approach and OLD are probably the best options since cold approaching doesn't offer any results, it isn't practical, why do it when the failure rate is so high?

Cold approaching only works if you're attractive and why would you cold approach if you're attractive when you could get a girl through Instagram DMs. And for average to below average guys, what's the point in engaging in this meme when the chance of rejection is 99+ % at best.

People could tell me i should touch grass and that guys cold approach all the time, but that doesn't seem to be the case when i go outside. I've never seen anybody before here mention cold approaching in my city, if anything that would be seen as weird and outdated.

What are your thoughts? Have you done approaching? Do you think it's the best way or do you think it's a complete waste of time.
