Oh yeah, I made a post that touched on another facet of this issue some months ago.

That the men most likely to harm women, are the men they choose to be around.

Not incels. And by "most likely", I mean by fucking miles. Incels pose virtually no statistical threat to women. Like 90%+ of violent crime commited against women are by men they knew and trusted.

Of course people just threw a hissy fit in the thread and didn't want to confront the facts.

IMO, they're right to cry and seethe about unfair generalizations. The problem is that feminist philosophy, as it's practically understood outside of the ivory tower, simply does not understand men. It's a very incomplete philosophy in that sense, and people who don't have a good understanding (i.e. most people) fill that hole with bad takes.

As an example, many leftists still assign a sense of hyperagency to men. People use the term "internalized misogyny" when a woman doesn't have the correct beliefs, but men are simply exhibiting "misogyny" when they don't have the correct beliefs. What is the "internalized" but supposed to mean? It's there to indicate that the misogynistic women was forced to be so, while the man is expected to have the agency to choose or not choose misogyny. Despite the fact that the origin of misogynistic beliefs is absorption of social norms, a process that everyone in society experiences.

I don't think the fix is to reject the philosophy, though, but rather to try to complete it. The anti leftist philosophy is worse for us either way, all things considered.

POST EDITED There is a loud community on incels.is which glorifies violence and pe*ophilia but not every incel is like that. A lot of them searches in red- and blackpill (or even blue sometimes) ideologies answers why they are rejected but they have no claims towards women for following her preferences and it is great that incels try to figure out how does the social world work. Incels as a whole shouldn't be seen only by the image of killers and mysogynists but also as a humans who have a harder life and need help

No one is forcing anyone to identify with a group that does have pedos and violent assholes in their ranks. Maybe they are a tiny minority, but you allowed that minority to tarnish the reputation of the group, now if you choose that label, you have that stigma whether you like it or not.

If you belonged to a political party or a social club that was tied to as much bigotry, misogyny, homophobia, violence, and sheer ignorance, you'd resign in protest. To do otherwise is to be an enabler.

the vast majority of incel groups are based around hate - the difference between race, sexual orientation and so on is that neither are precursors for an ideology that says “i hate this group cause they’re not giving me what i want” - so while yes, most incels aren’t violent murders, the ideology itself harbors the kind of hatred that would push people to that place
