When men complain about becoming a parent against their will, the feminists are the first to say "just keep it in your pants lol."

Just keep it in your pants ladies.

[–]IRatherChangeMyName 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

That is true, and that sucks. I wouldn't call them "logical", though. Just anti-sex. Probably because of religion.

[–]symbiote24 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

How is that illogical? If you don't want consequences, don't do the action that causes said consequences.

[–]ibruh101 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thats right. Cause and effect.

[–]IRatherChangeMyName 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You can stretch that argument as much as you want. But it doesn't change the fact that a lot of anti abortion speach ("pro life") it's not about life, but anti sex.

[–]Embarrassed-Lemon-69 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not what I’ve seen. Especially on r/prolife .

[–]dw87190 32 points33 points34 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Ironic, hypocritical, yet unsurprising given that their response to men being worried about condoms failing or women lying about being the pill is telling them not to have sex

[–][deleted] 16 points17 points18 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I still support abortion rights. Not because of feminazism but I don't want stupid people to breed uncontrollably:

What Will be the Consequences of the Supreme Court's Abortion Decision?

[–]Futureman9995 points 4 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

It's like they made a calculation there was a shortage of the genetic attributes of people who are too dumb to plan birth control + too poor or disorganized or something to drive to a neighboring blue state for an abortion.

[–]dw87190 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And they probably weren't paying attention to California saying they'd be an abortion sanctuary. I'm not even American and I know that one

[–]mixing_saws 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They need more poor people to throw at the grind.

[–]dw87190 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What the feminists don't understand is that there's only two reasons why the Americans are going against abortion: religion and forced fatherhood. It isn't even anti-women

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah, they have victim mentality. It doesn't matter how many rights they get, they will still play victim card.

[–]dw87190 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. They're angry because they want to be and do anything to find a reason to feed it. And that most commonly will be to create reasons

[–]Deutscher_Ritter 18 points19 points20 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Uuuuuuhhhhhh but you don't understand! It is CRUCIAL to my LIFE to get people to CUM deep INSIDE my FERTILE WOMB, but it doesn't mean that i want to get PREGNANT!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

[–]highLordd 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

banning abortions itself is also a really stupid thing to do in my opinion. your point stands tho

[–]wineblood 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The response I've seen a few times is "incel" and I don't understand the reasoning.

[–]SnooJokes1401[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ikr right. I swear the thought of someone being abstinent scares them.

[–]awkwarddoggos 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My favourite thing to say is it’s both peoples responsibility to make sure they use protection and also make sure the other person uses protection if you don’t want to get pregnant

[–]soundstage 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This has turned out to be an anti-feminist move by US, don't you think?

[–]luberne 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well you cant just tell people to just not have sex, it's human to do it. The best would be to stop being a nymphomaniac.

[–]kiaeej 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They dont like being restricted in any way at all, huh. All actions but zero consequences. Thats how I wanna live! No being held accountable for my actions.

[–]WetBread8339 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Yet at the same time most guys will complain when a woman doesnt want to have sex because she either just doesnt want to or maybe she doesnt want to have a child. So do men want women to have sex or not? Make up your mind. /

[–]SnooJokes1401[S] 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

What part of "Logical People" means "All Men?"

[–]WetBread8339 -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I didnt say all men im pointing out the fact that this post is dumb. Also there is maybe 1 female thats part of this subreddit while everyone else is a male. Also also I never said that “logical people” meant “men” im just saying that a lot of guys will complain if a woman doesnt want to have sex and so it puts pressure on her even though she may not want a child. So im just saying if a women doesnt want a kid that doesnt mean that she should have to give up her sex life or if she does chose to a guy shouldn’t complain about it especially since its not even their body

[–]SnooJokes1401[S] 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

I'm just going to explain the meme bc I have no idea what you're going on about.

For many years Feminists have supported forced child support on men because "If they didn't want the kid they should've kept it in their pants" and now the same 'forced parenting' scenario is happening to women and their making the argument of "rights of the parent" and stuff. The gif is pointing out the hypocrisy of the belief that only women should have a say in something that heavily affects the lives of both parties.

It's using a common feminist argument against them. The good ol' "How does it feel being the one dehumanized for once."

[–]_PencilNpapeR_ 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I can agree with you that the don't have sex argument is stupid no matter who throws it at whom. You know for sure that a pregnancy is not affecting both parties the same way. Ofc getting poor bc someone decided against my wish of beeing childless is a major issue and something that needs to be fixed. But if I can I take getting poor over my body getting fucked up for a brat that I never wanted and a process that is not only incredibly painful but also potentially deadly. Not to mention to have to care for it after.

Yet again I think this is a topic that affects us all heavily as you said, even if not in the same way, ao instead of pointing fingers and laughing at each others misery and coping mechanism, we should come together and fight that as humans, not at man or woman.

But I'm assuming that you agree with me and just posted this out of frustration, which I understand. Venting is important too.

[–]SnooJokes1401[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Of course. I usually say that it affects both parties in the same way because they're both so horrible that pointing out differences shouldn't factor into it.

It's my way of saying "Don't even try the 'women have it worse' argument because it doesn't help anything."

[–]OkElevator4657 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That’s why condoms fucking exist

[+]WetBread8339 -6 points-5 points-4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Feminism is the push for equal rights not forcing men(or any gender) to do something because of whatever reason, a man should not have to pay child support under the act of a crime committed by the women(which is what the article you provided stated) and a woman should not have to have the fear of being forced to have a child because mainly people of the opposite sex want to restrict that. I agree with the fact that if both parties consent to having sex and keep it within the boundaries of the law then both parties should have a say. But this isn’t a “only/mostly feminism” issue, this is an issue that honestly has nothing to do with feminism other than the fact that feminist want to change the fact that its an issue at all by eliminating the issue. Also there are many cases where one parent will walk out as soon as the child is born and leaves the other alone, in those cases child support should be provided but it isn’t a only men have to do it, so youre right it does effect both parties and the child, but your shaming the wrong people. You’re calling people that are trying to fix the issue the bad people because of misconceptions and rumors. Feminist arent out to get men they’re out to make every gender, opportunity, and experience equal.

[–]SnooJokes1401[S] 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

No. Feminism is the push for women to get more rights. That's how it was conceved, that's how it's been throughout history, and that's how it is today. Feminism fights for women's rights and MRM fight for men's rights.

What you are describing is Egalitarianism. FEMINISM. IS. NOT. EGALITARIAN.

You do not see feminists fighting against circumcision, you don't see them fighting against forced child support or the male draft. Feminism focuses on women's rights and women's rights only.

Your comment leads me to believe that you are either a Feminist that believes that their party is infallible and will block out any and all criticism, or an Egalitarian that truly has the best interests of both parties at heart that calls yourself Feminist because you falsely believe that you share the same views.

Go on r/Feminism, r/fourthwavewomen, r/femaledatingstrategy if it's up this week, and find a single topic talking about men's rights in a positive way. You probably won't, not because they are selfish, but because that's the way gender politics is designed.

Is isn't 'right party and wrong party' it's 'two parties that are both right and wrong'

[–]bored4everlol 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You’re either a crazy ass feminist with armpit hair that eats cookies made of her period, or a fat incel with a small dick that thinks he is white knighting for women to get some attention. Both are equally bad so go find therapy

[–]WetBread8339 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You’re either a asshole that thinks women dont deserve the same rights as men and all women are crazy people that are too “emotional” or you get all your info on women/feminism from shit subreddits like this one. Both are equally bad so go find therapy

[–]Soviet_Sloth69 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Uhh what about rape?

[–]SnooJokes1401[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

depends on how equal you want the laws to be.

This is a rare instance of Equality and Morality fighting on opposite sides.

[–]_PencilNpapeR_ 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Or medical reasons?

[–]__subarulyfe__ 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

what if birth control fails?

[–]bored4everlol 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

If you are smart enough calculate the possibility of it failing when you’re on the pill and the man has a condom. It becomes a verrrry slim possibility, but yall are just talking shit without some IQ to back it up lol

[–]__subarulyfe__ -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

but also, if you're smart enough as well, you'll see that condom, IUDS, the pill, patch, the needle, none of them is 100% safe, even when both parties use birth control correctly. I think you need an IQ of 1 to realize this

[–]bored4everlol 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think you dont even have that much intellect, the fucking possibility to get pregnant if both of you are on birth control is less than the possibility of you dying from driving your car

[–]__subarulyfe__ 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

still happens ¯_(ツ)_/¯

[–]bored4everlol 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]LondonLobby -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

most abortions are from rape?

[–]Embarrassed-Lemon-69 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Nope, most are the mother not being “ready” or because of “financial burden”. Rapes are less than one percent of all abortions performed.

[–]Yowazzuplol 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They LOVE to blurt out "WHAT ABOUT RAPE??" As if that's relevant to EVERYBODY else.. rape makes up what? 1% of pregnancies/abortions? 1%? Why even bring it up... OBVIOUSLY IF YOU GOT RAPED YOU'RE ENTITLED TO ABORT IT, NOBODY IS SAYING OTHERWISE. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE 99% OF SOCIETY THAT ARE NOT RAPED, OKAY AMBER HEARD? I swear these manipulative fucks know no bounds. Derail a legitimate conversation with something that has nothing to do with anything. This is why we can't have nice things.

[–]archit1405 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What if, and you might wanna sit down.

What if you use a fucking condom

[–]SnooJokes1401[S] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How about you take responsibility for your sex life at least once.

[–]bored4everlol 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What if you stop being a hoe making every dude you like nut in you ?

[–]ririsbaby 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

So what if I never want to have children? Am I just supposed to never have sex? Infallible logic right here

[–]Noltu 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Am I just supposed to never have sex?

Yeah? You aren't entitled to have sex nor is it a biological necessity. You could also just have sex with the knowledge that there are negative consequences to it while using many of the forms of contraception that are available.

[–]ririsbaby -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What? You want to actively ban people from having sex or something? I have an IUD and I’ll get an abortion if I get pregnant

[–]Noltu 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What? You want to actively ban people from having sex or something?

No, all that I said was that sex does have negative consequences that should be taken into account by whoever wants to engage in it. If you decide that you never want to have a baby, you should abstain from sex or utilize contraception, however, I do not think you should have the right to an abortion barring any of the well-understood legitimate circumstances.

[–]ririsbaby -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Or I could keep having sex and using contraceptives. And get an abortion if I get pregnant. It really is that simple. Thankfully you have no power on that matter and I get to decide what I do.

[–]LondonLobby 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

it’s a meme, it shouldn’t be taken as a guide to life.

the meme is meant to point out how ridiculous it sounds when women tell the exact same thing to men who don’t want children. but as soon as you tell women the same thing they flip out and insist abortion is the only way.

[–]ririsbaby 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well it’s stupid. Abortion should be 100% legal and accessible to everyone

[–]LondonLobby 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

we all have our opinions

[–]bored4everlol 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Have sex with people you actually know and like, not with any dude you fancy or has a big dick. And use other form of birth control

[–]ririsbaby -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Lmao. I’ll have sex with whoever I want. I have an IUD

[–]Yowazzuplol 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Wow aren't you a lovely girl, definitely one that i'd want to meet my parents... NOT. Sounds like you're on the CC getting creampied by Joe, Steve and Tom on the regular. What a free spirit. Definitely wanna marry a woman like that... NOT

[–]ririsbaby 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The hypocrisy is that the same argument is used by feminists to support forced child support. It's not the idea itself I'm bringing up, its the belief by feminists that it only applies to men.

The meme is basically giving them a taste of their own toxicity.

[–][deleted] 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[permanently deleted]

[–]bored4everlol 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Look its one of 2 options: Its legal and women decide to have it but men can opt out of child support if the woman doesn’t wanna abort when he wants so. Its illegal totally and let the world burn

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I still support abortion rights. Not because of feminism but I don't want stupid people to breed uncontrollably:

What Will be the Consequences of the Supreme Court's Abortion Decision?

[–]Toran_dantai 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The act of procreation leads to procreation.

Who knew

[–]Fair-Lie7125 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

This is actually really fucking stupid

[–]Embarrassed-Lemon-69 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Not participating in an act that leads to major consequences is stupid?

[–]Fair-Lie7125 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Pretending like telling people to stop having sex is a good suggestion is stupid. How about teach people how to safely have sex. But even contraception fails sometimes, no contraception is 100% effective. Which is why there needs to be more resources out there not less

[–]Embarrassed-Lemon-69 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

The fact that contraceptives are not 100% successful is yet another good reason for abstaining. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

[–]Fair-Lie7125 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Are you just sexless or something? Im asexual and I can tell you that the ace community doesnt even think like this. Abstain if you want, but people are going to have sex. Also most contraception has a high success rate

[–]Embarrassed-Lemon-69 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Celibate actually. And it doesn’t mean I can’t give a tug every now and then. Why can’t other people?

[–]Fair-Lie7125 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They do both. Its not one or the other.

[–]Embarrassed-Lemon-69 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I’ve been doing one my whole life and I haven’t had any problems.

Besides, why can’t you just stay at home and play with yourself instead of going out and risking 21 years of responsibility?

[–]AnimalCrosser_ 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Ngl this post is really really stupid, logical my phat ass. "Just dont have sex" tell that to the 10yr old who got denied an abortion and was råpëd. Wanting to be able to have an abortion that is accessible no matter the reason isn't feminism, get that straight.

[–]SnooJokes1401[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

The point is that "just keep it in your pants" has been a Feminist argument to combat male parental rights for years. It's giving you guys a taste of your own medicine.

[–]lonley_pincone -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

bro you trying so hard. a 10 yr old girl was r*ped and was denied abortion. you can't just say "erm just don't have sex? lol" r*pe is also a thing that can happen

[–]SnooJokes1401[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm pointing out the hyporacy of talking about the 10yo girl when cases like Hermesmann v Sayer are thrown out because "He enjoyed it" or "He should've kept it in his pants."

Stop defending only half of rape victims.

There are thousands of cases of men being forced to care for a child they conceived by being raped and you guys have to resort to using the same example twice in a row.

The amount of men that have this problem rise daily and yet the only one you guys focus on is that lone female example.

That is what the meme is making fun of.

"you guys" ? You mean women? Wow what a quite of piece of shit you are.

[–]SnooJokes1401[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

My God. Some people just can't take the punches they throw.

[–]AnimalCrosser_ -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

What are you talking about, you are not making any sense ffs.

[–]SnooJokes1401[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I'm saying that feminists love to tell men to keep in their pants if they don't want children but can't stand it when we say it back.

By getting so worked up over it you're literally reinforcing the message.

[–]AnimalCrosser_ 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Reinforcing what message😂😂💀, Im not a feminst nor am I worked up. Your a bit delusional. I believe men and women should have equal rights and also buddy, it takes two to tango (just a reminder ;) since you are telling women to keep it in their panties)

[–]SnooJokes1401[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

DUDEEEE

"It takes two to tango" IS LITERALLY IS MESSAGE THE MEME IS TRYING TO SEND

It's pointing out the hypocracy when feminists say that men should be forced to give child support because they didn't 'keep it in their pants' but get upset when we say it back.

I've never seen anyone so vehemently agree and disagree with me at the same time.

[–]AnimalCrosser_ 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

There is alot to agree with and disagree with. Anything abortion related shouldn't be in the same conversation as feminism. In all honesty, I get where you are coming from.

[–]SnooJokes1401[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I guess the fair but the Feminist reaction, in my eyes, is too blatantly selective to not point out.

[–]Affectionate_Tax3468 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I wonder how many of these posts it will take until you "logical people" realize that this will lead to even more forced parenthoods for men.

I mean, I get that you hate women, but hating them so much that you celebrate something bad for men too is a bit.. much.

[–]bored4everlol 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Look, men are already forced into fatherhood and slaving away in child support for kids they rather would have aborted. So basically the choice is ONLY in the women hands now and men are literally second class humans. So in a cynical but justified way, if men cant have it then women too cant have it. Its just fair to get EQUAL treatment for both genders :D

[–]Affectionate_Tax3468 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

So instead of fighting for concepts like "financial abortion" for men, you rather have womens lifes suck more, along with some mens lifes that could have been spared if legal abortion was a thing.

And in all that mess we didnt talk about the children that are born unwanted, into unstable families/situations which will result in way more suffering. Or the rape victims and their children. Or the medical issues.

Just so people like you can have your petty revenge.

[–]bored4everlol 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Imo the world is full of people that are really suffering, and from what i see its mostly men nowadays and its all because of feminism. And the problem is that the general public doesn’t even recognize that, they keep hearing how women are soooo oppressed and just believe it without using their brains. Maybe the solution is some shock therapy, showing women how in just one subject men have been getting the ass end of the deal for a while, and thats just one. In my view ? Yeah i am petty enough to have so many women’s lives suck ass even if some men get some shit as well myself included.

As for those kids you’re so concerned about, the whole culture we have about sex is so fucked up. Women are told that having more sex with more men is equal to power and liberty, and then told that raising kids without fathers is equal to independence and freedom. And then those kids raised by single mothers are so fucked up mentally cause they didn’t grow up in a normal household with a father figure, but of course they are fucked up kids just cause its the new generation and not cause maybe they didn’t get raised well. So basically kids are already being destroyed and raised to be in the bottom of society, a couple hundred more isnt much of an addition.

[–]Affectionate_Tax3468 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Most people on this planet suffer because of massive economic disparities, and the benefactors of these disparities are really successful in pushing groups of people against other groups of people, keeping them busy with "easier targets".

Christians vs Atheists. Atheists vs muslims. Muslims vs Jews. Blacks vs whites. Men vs Women.

But yeah, keep on your fatalist rant against "BuT wOmEn". Stay Busy. Keep working and consuming.

Btw.: So "a couple hundred more" children suffering isnt much of an addition, but "a couple hundred" men that are "FoRcEd InTo PaReNtHoOd" is literally the worst thing happening to mankind?

[–]bored4everlol 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Its not about the men being forced into parenthood, it’s about people learning responsibility. Before now if a man goes around fucking girls the woman will have to be responsible for the kids coming out of this. But now feminism came and we shifted alll the responsibility into men, which is weird cause they love equality but this doesn’t sound like it. Now a girl can have sex all the time and kids are gonna be paid off cause of child support, hell you have girls now “sniping out” the richer guys to have kids with and live off the child support. But like you’re totally serious saying that men being forced into fatherhood is less bad than women being forced into motherhood ? Your sexism is showing really well…

[–]Affectionate_Tax3468 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And in what way does it help forced fatherhood that abortions are now way harder to come by?

Thats all i am saying the whole time: This change does NOTHING for men. Nothing. Not a single man benefits from this. It is not preventing women from "sniping" guys for child support. It only prevents responsible women from getting treatment that would also spare men from becoming unwanted fathers after sex, that both parties consensually agreed to, unwantedly lead to pregnancy.

You talk about "responsibility". Abortion is basically the greatest form of responsibility after other birth control failed. And thats what you guys are restricting.

[–]Embarrassed-Lemon-69 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Says the feminist who’s entire ideology is about taking revenge on men for what they did in the past.

There’s no way you got through that paywall and read that study in 30 minutes! That must be a world record, congratulations

[–]SnooJokes1401[S] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

You don't need 50 Einsteins on a wall to infer that "the violent crime rate increases in the next 20 years" means that its about the next generation growing up with parents that aren't ready.

Cuz, ya know, 20 years is how long it takes for a human to grow into an adult and its not gonna be about mothers waiting for 20 years, then going all 'here's johnny" over the ban

Also there's no paywall

[–]bigbombsbiggermoms -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

can you rephrase the last sentence I think there’s a syntax error, it might be me but I’m having a hard time understanding the phrasing

[–]SnooJokes1401[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

I'm saying that if the article was about people's reaction to ban itself then it wouldn't be delayed by 20 years.

Also I can't help but notice that you've got a bit of a problem with context. You should work on that.

[–]bigbombsbiggermoms 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Thank you for the re editing and your patience, I have a learning disability, unfortunately it’s not something that gets resolved through “fixing”, just patience.

Last time I went to search for the article it had a log-in wall for USA only students, so I couldn’t access it. I’m glad you were able to access it freely.

I’m not understanding what you mean by “initial ban” in this context, can you elaborate? I genuinely am having a hard time understanding. Are you saying that feminists are going “here’s Johnny” over the ban?

What do you mean it’s not going to be about mothers waiting for 20 years? Are you trying to ask “why now?”

[–]SnooJokes1401[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The article states that when a ban on abortion is put in place it will take 20 years for the big rise in crime to reach its apex. Assuming that this increase in crime is caused by protests against that ban (I know its not. I'm using this as a proof by contradiction) the protests would have to be violent, to account for the increase in crime rate, and take place 20 years after the event they are protesting (the ban on abortion). This, of course, is dumb because people would not start getting violent over an event that happened 2 decades ago for no reason. Thus the idea that the idea that the increase in violence is caused by protests makes no sense.

[–]bigbombsbiggermoms 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Okay I understand what you’re saying now, thank you for clarifying.

The event of the ban of abortion isn’t actually the cause of violent crime in 20 years post-ban, it prohibition of abortion leads to something the researchers called “unwantedness”, a child that is unwanted by their parents. Which tends to occur when unwanted pregnancies become unwanted births. Adults who were “unwanted” were much more likely to commit violent crimes (assaults on elderly/children, armed robbery, murder).

This study wasn’t started to prove that abortion bans caused violent crime after 20 years, it was actually investigative initially and done by economists, since America was facing a violent crime epidemic. Looking at large data samples, nothing correlated with rates of violence as much as the unwantedness factor. This is all in the study.

Yes ofc. I think this particular abstract didn’t give enough context to OP though

Just because something bad has happened to us/happens to us doesn't mean we should applaud bad things happening to the other gender.

Should a man have a right to choose to be a parent?

Yes but just because he can unethically be forced into parenthood doesn't mean it's good for the same to be forced upon women.

The overturning of roe v wade is a blow for human rights across the board and if you can't see how that's bad for men too then you're obviously more into hating women then you are actually caring about men.

[–]ririsbaby 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly

[–]bored4everlol 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Why ? Aren’t you feminists very vocal about equality? If men are denied the choice then women should be denied just equally ?

[–]N64crusader4 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Firstly I'm not a feminist, secondly my entire point is that equality should be achieved through the provision of more rights to men not the deprivation of rights from women.

Your attitude is like advocating for other people to be pulled down to your level instead of yourself being pulled up to their level.

MORE INCEL SHIT. GET OFF THIS SUB WITH YOUR SHITTY CONTENT

[–]SnooJokes1401[S] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I am an incel because I want women to be more careful about who they sleep with? That's literally the exact opposite of what incels believe.

[–]MpowerUS -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yes, you're exactly right -- you are an incel because you think you have a place to say "I want women to be more careful with who they sleep with" -- as if removing the ability to have an abortion will somehow make women more selective so they'll sleep with you? Ewww.....

Logical people? More like incels and christofacists....

This used to be a sub to discuss misandry at the hands of feminists, and now it's just turning into another MGTOW......

What other people do with their bodies is not your business

[–]SnooJokes1401[S] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm abstinant by choice actually. You should try it, it's quite fun.

Do you know why I'm absitinant? Because men were forbidden to have any say in what happens to a child that they have to take care of so I decided it wasn't worth the risk. Sound familiar?

Imagine hating on people for pointing out hipocracy. Also don't bother trying to pretend that your argument has any merit considering how 'autist' was the insult you decided to use.

I had a friend once that talked the same way you do. He became a Neo-Nazi.

Your point stands for some cases, but I think the biggest uprising was for rape victims
