42M, married 12.5 years to 41F in California. I filed divorce on 6/10/24 with courthouse, been a long time coming. Process is moving forward pretty amicably. STBX and I met with her attorney recently and discussed the amicable splitting up of assets, house, debts, retirement. California has 6 months and a day cooling off period before divorce is finalized. STBX’s attorney stated an arbitrary date of 10/1/24 - about 90 days from our meeting for me to move out of house, as my STBX is planning to buy me out (how, I have no idea). Even if being bought out of home, I thought I shouldn’t leave house until 12/11/24 or final date of dissolution. Anyone in similar situation?
