Wondering if anyone would be willing to share their experience filling out the CIS forms. I was given clear enough instructions on how to go about it, But psychologically I’m struggling with the sense that every outcome depends on getting numbers perfect.

This is an emotional problem, and my lawyer would be a very expensive therapist if I were to call him about it. I just need to hear some feedback on how people managed the following things:

STBX expenses section: did you just leave it alone or did you add things that you knew should be in there?

My current vs joint expenses: this is the part that’s really tripping me up… my cis will be modified to be “anticipated” instead of current bc we still live together. I need my numbers to be realistic but I can’t actually know what they’ll be until I’m out. I’m looping on whether I’ll be seen as untrustworthy if numbers are estimated, even though most of them HAVE to be estimated.

How many of you feel like the CIS made or broke your case, and what would you suggest to someone who’s struggling with completing it “to the best of their ability” instead of perfectly?
