Guys I spent the last 20 minutes preparing a post about how I feel like a loser when I think of the financial loss I’m about to experience, combined with the probable financial hardship that I’ll go through for the next decade. My closing thought was on how it will make an unappealing prospect of me once I’m ready to date (long from now).

And then it happened…A great realization.

The reason my divorce may decimate my finances is because I self sacrificed so that my wife would consider me a good provider. I tried to buy her love with endless support, financial and otherwise. It never worked. It was never recognized, and was never enough. She earns more than I do, and my appeasing her dysfunctional approach to finances was nothing but a money pit.

If I think financial strain is going to reduce my dating options, I welcome it. Fuck anyone who, in this modern age, isn’t willing or able to build herself up enough to not need a financial caretaker. If I have enough to provide for myself and my son, I’m interested in is a woman who does the same by default. Anyone who’s not in position to do that isn’t a worthy dating option for me.

End rant.
