OK, this is super important. The fact that you do not have a parenting agreement is VERY bad. You could lose access to you children. Google parental alienation and start reading up on it ASAP. Your children are your first, second, third and tenth concern! You MUST spend money right now to put in a solid custody order and a parenting plan. There is a huge number of parents, both men and women, who have not seen or had any contact with their children for years, sometimes decades. I know a guy who spent $500k on litigation and have not had any contact with his kids for many years.

Hire an attorney even if you cannot afford one. Raid your 401k, borrow, steal, do whatever it takes ASAP to put an official court order in place. Stick to your parenting plan. Communicate with your co-parent ONLY through an official court ordered system that is admissible in court. Journal everything that happens, everything your kids tell you, wear a body camera at exchanges or better yet don't meet with the other parent in person at all. Learn the BIFF method, read books about how to handle high-conflict people, listen to podcasts and youtube videos. DO NOT DELAY this. This is going to mean the difference between years of misery for you and your kids vs happy childhood.

Something tells me that you need to reread your parenting agreement. You should know it by heart, backwards and forwards.

To answer your question, No.

There’s absolutely nothing she can do to change the custody arrangement, only a judge can do that, and it has to be for an exceptional reason.

The courts won’t even hear her case. She has ZERO legal standing . Courts look at what is in the best interest of the child, not the mothers hurt feelings.

You can have any partner you like, bring them around the kids, whatever. As long as they’re not a criminal or abusing the kids there’s nothing the biological mother can do about it.

In Illinois the custodial parent only means that is the child’s primary residence. Unless your parenting agreement says otherwise, you and the biological mother have equal parental rights.
