Yup. This is a good development for you. It happens when all the divorce drama is played out. Now you can be as friendly or indifferent as you want. I only initiate a conversation if I need something (switch days, pick up early/late). If she needs something, I accommodate within reason. It makes life easy. Let all the past bullshit go and enjoy this lovely new phase of coparenting.

No, my ex is all business and only talks about the kids. Having said that, this reminded me of the tit-for-tat strategy in game theory... basically, if you're nice I'll be nice; if you're mean, I'll be mean. Maybe she got some co-parenting counseling or advice from somebody? The idea behind this strategy is that both sides are better off cooperating and being nice, but if the other player defects to take advantage of your generosity, then it pays to show you won't be taken advantage of without consequences.

It's pretty normal in any healthy relationship. You treat people how you want to be treated. I'd just try and be kind and hope she continues to be too this is a pretty amazing outcome.

Sounds like you have a somewhat healthy relationship with your ex now id celebrate it.

My old boss has a better relationship with his ex wife that he did then when they where married lol. They where married for 10 years, actually they probably have a better relationship then when they dated.

Sometimes people are better off apart. My old boss and his ex wife are now super friendly they still do Christmas together now with new partners and shared custody etc. She got his family home in the divorce and they do it at her place. He no longer refers to her as his ex-wife but usually as the mother of his children. When they where married they fought all the time. He often asks her for favours the biggest one was to buy his new house. He paid for it but both him and his new partner where aware that she was a better negotiator so they sat at her place and watched the children while she went to the Auction for them.

They both pretty much say yes to each other about anything now. They both travel for work and are both accommodating of looking after kids. It's not unusual for either to ask to swap a week at short notice they both always say yes. They have even had some strange swaps where he stays at her place because the kids had something organised etc. It's mind boggling for me cause when they where married I'd just hear her screaming at him through the phone.
