So me and my wife of 10 years are currently separated. We've been together for 12 years in total. We prioritised our children over eachother and we slowly drifted apart. It hurts like absolute hell. It's not just the loss of an amazing woman who had so much love to give, but it's also all of her family. I feel closer and loved from her family more than my own. I loved all of her sisters and nieces and nephews like they were my own. How the hell do people get through this? We've been separated for 6 weeks now and I think is going to end in divorce. We have both been very amicable which is great for our 2 children. I've moved back in with my parents while we decide what to do with the house, selling isn't an option. I guess I'm just hoping we can reconcile weather that be in 6 months or 3 years. I just feel like we can both make changes and get back our connection. I don't want to get back what we had, I want to start a fresh but she doesn't. It's eating me up inside that we both let it get like this. Anyone gone through something similar? I can't even bring myself to talk to another woman let alone date. I'm 36 btw and my single mate has been filling me in on the horrors of modern dating, it's all tik tok and insta handles... It doesn't fill me with any hope. Also, a lot of my friends have moved away and had kids/married so I'm kind of a loner. How do you make new friends?
