I’m approaching 2 years since separation. Ink was dry is spring. I’ve rebuilt my life….new friends, reconnected with old, in shape, hobbies, etc. Even got into a new relationship that has many healthy elements I didn’t know I was missing before. If you check my post history it’s largely positive.

But for over week now I’m going though a strong wave of grief I thought was behind me.

Anyone go through this? I know it will pass but I’m stuck by how strong this wave has been. What is new this time is thoughts maybe the path I’ve walked (despite tangible positives and wins) wasn’t the best choice.

I think the main triggers are a large unexpected home expense, surviving layoffs at work, and some other little things. Real life stress I haven’t had to face yet outside the divorce itself.

I also visited a town I lived with my ex before we got married. Those were great years and it brought up good memories in contrast to whom she became. The wave only got stronger after that.

I have support, and I don’t want to feel this way. Like I want to start from scratch again, including a bit of the relationship I am in. Like maybe it’s similar thoughts that what led my ex to cheat and blow up in first place and relating to that now sucks too
