Hmm, yeah I had/have nightmares since my STBXW started talking, meeting, fucking guys 2 months ago. Less now than before, but it still hurts and fucking sucks. If she’s not a monster like my ex, she won’t through it in your face. Never once asked about it, but she always had to tell me about her dates despite my insistence I didn’t want to hear.

My suggestion is to keep yourself busy. Hobbies, friends, meet new people, go to the gym. NEVER ask her questions about her personal life. She likely won’t tell you the truth anyways. You might feel like you’d feel better knowing the truth/details, but it only makes it worse.

I found that drinking made it worse for myself. Stopped drinking and started working out to tire myself out at night to help promote a better nights sleep. It didn’t happen overnight, but eventually got much better.

I had these for 2-3 days, usually when I was trying to fall asleep and they jolted me awake with my heart racing. Luckily they have stopped now but expect they may come back for a period of time.

I have been seeing therapist and found doing a simple 5 min meditation/mindfulness exercise really helps.

I went through similar, I remember I spoke to my therapist about it but kinda struggling as to what she told me, I think she said what was happening was basically a panic attack in the middle of the night that was waking me up. Best way to deal with the panic attack was to open my eyes and breathe through it, deep breaths to calm down, count to ten and when I've calmed down I would fall back asleep. She also then went into me trying to direct my dreams by consciously thinking about the dream while I'm awake and telling myself if this happens again I'd like the dream to end by this happening and basically seeing it happen in my own head before bed. I think it kinda stopped happening before I got this working for me though, or maybe that's what stopped it I don't know 🤷‍♂️

Either way you're not the first this has happened to and unfortunately your not gonna be the last, keep the head up, you're a good person, much better and happier days are ahead!

I do too. A year later and I still have constant nightmares about her moving back in and demanding I let her keep seeing her AP, or catching them in my bed, or actually killing him and knowing I'm going to prison for the rest of my life. I have diagnosed PTSD from some military shit, but this is the recent stressor that triggers my symptoms. They prescribed me Prazosin for the nightmares, but it doesn't help much.
