My wife and I just decided on getting divorced three days ago. We were married 7 years, together for 12. I only noticed her unhappiness a year ago, and we started going to couples therapy. Things felt better for a while as we realized a pattern of me becoming too attached when I experienced stress and her being a distancer. It seemed like found a good balance for months, and then I noticed her seeming very distant and unhappy again a few months ago. We started therapy again, and it just came out that she has been unhappy for several years and basically lost attraction to me. She was uncomfortable and unable to communicate that or any reasons for being unhappy until now, so even though she knew she was unhappy for a while, I had no idea and this all came as a pretty sudden shock.

I've been going to the gym every day, reaching out to friends and hanging out after work with them, eating healthy, going to bed at normal hours. I work remotely, so I unfortunately don't have much interaction with people throughout the day and not much of a chance to get close to coworkers since we are limited to Teams calls throughout the work day.

What else do you recommend to do in order to stay sane and avoid the painful sadness that comes throughout the day at this stage? I imagine the stress and sadness will last for a while, but at what point do you feel like you can through most of the day and night without feeling extremely sad and like crying multiple times?
