My ex-wife divorced me a year ago. It came out of nowhere, one day she just came and said she wanted a divorced. According to her I was the reason because I had changed. I don’t really wanna go into the detail too much, but I wanna rant a little about the future.

During the marriage I was the one making more money, so most the bills were paid because of me, but it she had to be included a little. So I was doing most of the payments but we still shared some. After the divorce, everything was 50:50 to her. But one thing that was never 50:50 to her was our relationship - she just one day decided to end without ever discussing any problem she had seen with me.

We have one son together and I‘m with him every other weekend. The other days my days are pretty repetitive, just work, watch TV and sleep. There are days when I go out with my friends, but after 10 years of the former relationship with my ex wife, it’s not the same. Most of the days I’m still kinda alone.

And here comes my problem - I just can‘t see myself being in relationship, because of what happened. What stops the women from ending the relationship purely for her reasons. I don’t see anything wrong I did in relationship with my ex wife. So the fact that the potential future partner can just come any day and end the relationship while it is a relationship of two people on all fronts apart the relationship itself - that is purely based on the decision of one person, in this case, her decision.

Don‘t get me wrong, I have never been the one who ever thought about ending a relationship, but I can see myself still making this a two person decision, that is what relationship between two partners includes.

Am just I overthinking? Am I just nitpicking here?
