So I’m going through a divorce now in it’s early stages. My wife had an affair on me while I was overseas for a year. Had a guy living in my house, driving my car. The whole 9. I’ve been living with a friend for the past 4 months but he suddenly has decided to leave the area in 2 weeks and that leaves me without a place to stay.

The house is mine, and I’ll be getting it. She knows this and has started to pack her stuff up to be out of the house March 1st. She inconveniently lost her job this month so that presents another whole issue, seeing as she’s broke. Either way I’m willing to help her get on her feet and first months rent so it still shouldn’t be long that she’s in my house.

My 2 options:

A: Move in and maintain peace which so far has been good, but she has a history of going off randomly. She and I have discussed it and I would be downstairs and she would stay upstairs. I’m just nervous, she has recently tried to talk about reconciling and I’ve turned her down. I don’t think she would do this, but I also fear it becoming a “he said, she said” thing if she wanted to make it that way all of the sudden. Like she could say “well we had sex, so I’m going to fight the divorce” or claim domestic violence or something crazy. All of which I wouldn’t do obviously. I only have 2k saved up from starting to rebuild my finances. I’m selling my home and need as much cash as I can get, so this option allows me to save this money

B: Get a hotel for a month , spend most of my savings on it and at least be away from her and continue letting the lawyer handle majority of it. I just worry about being broke after this when it most likely is false fears. My gut tells me she wouldn’t do anything drastic, but also I know she can be a loose cannon and unpredictable even if she’s been calm lately. Also if I do this, then clearly I won’t have money to help her out getting a place.

TLDR: Going through a divorce, lost my temporary place to stay randomly. Either have to move in with my wife while it all goes down or spend all of my savings on a hotel.
