should you try counseling? Or require her to get counseling as well alone?
is she going to have primary custody?
where will you live and what can you afford? You will need a place your kids can stay with u.

Best course is to get consultation on divorce or pay attorney some money to have it laid out for you so you know what’s the worst that can happen. Abusers tend to also say they are abused to deflect. Abusers also lie and never own their shit.

Don’t tell anyone you saw a lawyer. You also need a game plan for the abuse and how to document it. This could go in your favor. Does she hit the children? Remember to get out ahead on this legally especially is she is toxic and abuser. You wait she will snow plow your ass with false allegations and make the money grab cleaning our accounts. Any physical violence at all, call the police. The police will separate you and your STBX and ask you each a story. Be 100% down to earth with them: she hates me, we’re getting divorced, and she slapped me and spat on me. I have never laid a finger on her and would be happy to talk more. I fear escalating violence from her because she can’t control her emotions and there are kids present, so please help officer.
