I live in a bottom 5 for public education state. Current 50/50 custody, she is the primary only for government programs. We live in the same fairly small town, I make more than twice as much as her.

My plan is to buy a house and move ~60 miles away to the district that is #2 in the state, a fairly affluent town end of next year. My oldest is 3, so they'll be enrolled in school the following fall. The school is year round, they just get a lot of breaks.

What can I do to set a successful stage for this? I can't imagine she would try to deny the kids the best education possible, and would mean I would get primary custody so they go to school 5 days a week.
