No, do not compare yourself to this man.

It’s not about who is more successful, better looking, funnier, better in bed etc. Women will blow up their marriage for no other reason other than they are bored. My guess is you two fell into a routine especially during Covid lockdowns. She wanted drama which is fun and this guy and his divorce provides that in spades.

Nah, it really doesn't say anything about you, except for maybe your ability to successfully vet and choose a partner - though many women are very good at hiding just how crazy they are until something breaks like this. You are not unusual or alone in that respect.

Not your circus, not your monkey anymore. Enjoy life and do not spend a ton of energy trying to understand how women think - it's all 100% emotion and feelings driven which is subject to wild swings on any given day. Rational thought is not part of the equation.

Just navigate getting to the end of this in a business-like manner.

There's all kinds of women so its hard to generalize. But in an attempt to provide you some understanding, women rely on emotions and feelings for decision making far more than men do. So on paper and to outsiders the woman looks insane for what she is doing and the woman is aware of that. But she will justify it with how she feels. Its sort of like when you see a really rich person or a famous celebrity who commits suicide even though they have it all. She can't see past her depression, isolation, loneliness, sadness, feeling uncared for, unloved, unappreciated. She mistakenly thinks she feels this way because of you. She doesn't realize there isn't a soul on this planet that can fill that hole in her heart. Those negative feelings outweigh the comfy simple lifestyle you have with her by a mile.

The AP is like heroin for her. For a woman, the bonding hormones that come with a new relationship are intoxicating. Just thinking of her AP floods her brain with dopamine, oxytocin, and serotonin. The routine of marriage could never give her this kind of high. She mistakenly thinks the AP can make her feel this way forever.

There's only a small percentage of women who are self aware and accountable enough to manage themselves through a lifetime marriage. Most are like your wife.
