I actually left my wife and left the state for a friend's house to stay. No kids, but we do have a nice house and I admit she was the bread winner financially. But for the last couple years she was in pain and needed a surgery to handle it, things changed after that. But essentially aside from her always putting me down and getting violent at times it got to the point I couldn't take it and had a friend put me on a volunteer psych hold a few weeks to make sure I didn't do anything stupid. It was to the point when we got there and she came back with me and I said I had to go to the bathroom at which point I told the security guard I didn't want her there as she was my biggest trigger, told the Dr the same. So when I decided to leave I left with just clothes and my special needs pup and that was it. So all my assets are still at the house and she says I'm not entitled to anything other then what I came in with...but I worked paid my bills (not mortgage), and cared for her hand and foot for years. Its not just cash that means you contribute and we are supposed to pay bills that we were paying when the paperwork was filed, but she went and got a new cell so I'm paying for a line she doesn't use anymore, why can she pick and chose what she pays but her lawyer threatened me with contempt? This is still so new it will be almost 2 months before our first hearing where I can request what I am entitled to, but how is it I left and everyone still acts like she's the victim. But the she sent me something on Instagram yesterday even though she hasn't given me her new cell number and only answers the parts of my emails she wants, not the ones where I could save money like the cell. I left my house, my job, everything and I feel like I did something wrong. Because I finally stood up for my mental health for once. Being a guy in this situation regardless of the facts still seems like an uphill battle and that really sucks.
