Quickly approaching the end of month 2 of an in home separation. Divorce has been filed (by me) and we both have attorneys. Still fairly early in the process though.

I met with my attorney late last week right after he had a meeting with the STBX's attorney. My guy asked if I'd be open to a basic, boiled down version of a parenting plan (something like every other weekend plus 2 overnights a week, with school stuff and holidays to be determined at a later date) in lieu of the time and money it would take to work out every single detail before I move out (upcoming school schedule for my oldest who will be in Pre-K this September, holidays, Christmas time etc..) I said maybe, but I would need to check into it more.

The STBX knows that I won't move out until a parenting plan is approved by a judge so I'm sure this request is coming from her and her attorney.

Are there any obvious downsides I'm not seeing here? Should I not even consider moving out until a comprehensive, fully outlined parenting plan is approved and in place? Or is just the basic meat and potatoes version that covers week days and weekends enough for now?

My kids are ages 4 and 2 btw.
