I am also divorced, but where I live in Europe, divorces are usually fast and without too many complications. Two years ago I started talking online to an American man, we were both in divorce, but now my divorce was finalized more than one year ago and me and my ex have shared custody and everything is more ore less fine. This guy ( who comes to my country sometimes bc he works for a company who has the headquarters here) is still in divorce because of all kinds of complications and lives in the same house as his ex, claiming he doesn't want to lose his house and his kids and his ex doesn't work so he cannot finance two places. He wants to transfer with the job to the country I live in and also finalize the divorce here since he thinks it is more fair here. He also wants to start a relationship with me and says he has feelings for me.

I like this guy a lot and he seems like a really nice person, but I find the situation very weird. Two years and still living in the same house? Where I live this is unheard of, but I don't want to judge him since in the US the divorces seem to be very complicated. Is this reasonable or am I being lied to? How should I proceed?
