My ex and I have been separated for almost two years. We worked with a mediator and got 90% of the way there before things broke down and went to the lawyers. I've been using all of the financial data we gave each other based on the separation date of two years ago, she has done the same with her lawyer. Turns out, I found out her lawyer made an error by running the numbers incorrectly, leading to her claiming I owe her an extra 30K. I told her it was an honest mistake, please have her correct her calculations and we will move on.

My ex is now stating that unless I accept the inflated number, she is going to request that we re-run all of the financial data based on today's date. She is essentially extorting me.

My question...can she change the date? We only made the date of separation official in meditation which ended.

Also, she's in for a rude surprise if she goes this route as I've cut my retirement savings down dramatically over the past few years to cover lawyers, etc... But I still don't want to have to start the process over and pay lawyers even more $$$.

Thanks for reading.
