Any advice will be appreciated.

I hope someone can give me a solid advice cause my lawyer isn’t really helping. I’ve moved out of my marital house more than 2 years and filed for divorce for more than a year. I’ve been paying and am still paying all the house expenses (and agreed she will get the house after settlement), kids educations and health insurance while I and my ex were trying to settle. But now it just seems like she isn’t wanting to settle because I already agreed with most of her terms except one thing. She wanted to claim both kids as her dependent so she can get all the tax credits and subsidies but she wanted me to pay for the health insurance while paying her alimony and child support. She’s not in a hurry to settle for sure because everything is still paid for now and according to my lawyer the alimony and child support will only start after we sign the paper, which means the past 2 years I’ve been paying will not be counted. Anyone has any advice on this situation please let me know. I am really hopeless now like I am in a situation that I can’t do anything but continue paying everything until she is happy to end it and then I will start paying her for another 5 years. FYI, we’ve been married for 10 years and my lawyer just said I may need to pay 7 years of alimony so there is no retrospective calculation (is that true?!)
