It is my birthday today. My wife and I are getting a divorce but still currently living together with our 2 daughters, ages 11 and 16. I have not seen them all day until they got home at 9:30pm tonight from ice skating practice. They brought me ice cream for my birthday, but did not tell me specifically, "Happy Birthday". My oldest daughter brought her ice cream to her room to eat and didn't talk to me anymore. My youngest and I ate our ice cream in the kitchen and then went upstairs to her room to watch YouTube videos on her iPad.

I am just feeling extremely sad and disappointed in my daughters. I definitely was not expecting any presents, but I was expecting a little more acknowledgement of my birthday. I feel they are so consumed with themselves that they don't really care it is my birthday or anything else about me. The thought of punishing them has crossed my mind, but I have not because that is not a way to make someone care.

I am wanting to move to Florida when my youngest turns 18, but now I am thinking about moving sooner because I don't think I will be missed.

I suffer from depression and think my thoughts are because of my depression. Have any of you experienced something similar? Should I stick it out and hope one day they will both come around to appreciate and love me more? I am just so disappointed that I think they may be better off without me.
