I'm in the midst of a gnarly divorce, it feels like every few days I get an e-mail that an attorney has subpoenaed this or needs to review that. As soon as it feels like my nervous system is calming down I get the dreaded "1 NEW MESSAGE FROM XXXXXX" in my inbox. Kid exchanges are rough, and my STBXW are not really on good terms. We can't communicate. It's hit or miss. One day, I'm not worth her time. (I usually get these texts when I'm trying to stick to my boundaries or won't give her money). The next day, she wants to go out to dinner with the kids and shortly thereafter she leaves because she doesn't want to give the kids false hope. I ask for pictures of my daughter at open house..... nothing. I take pictures for her first day of school and still send them to her.

Anyways, I was laying in bed last night in doing the usual, trying to turn my brain off. The guardian ad litem rescheduled her visit for this morning. So just a ton of anxiety all the way around. My daughter is fast asleep in her room, my son is asleep in the bed beside me. He's got a bit of a cough and a runny nose and tossing and turning. My phone went off, I got a message from a good friend of mine, the girl I took to prom after my STBXW and I split in high school. It was just a selfie of her with her s/o and said something along the lines of

"I ran in to your ex wife at the bar tonight. You're going to be just fine."

There's not really much of a point to this story, aside from that comment seemed to make me feel a bit better for awhile, because the world seems like it's caving in around me. It's a bit reassuring that at least others seem to notice what a train wreck things are and that it's not from my side.

The kids are asleep, I'm drinking my coffee this morning, and I'm going to be alright. :)
