I don’t think it’s even a question. A lot of the red pill writings address this explicitly, or very close to it. Especially if you include emotionally abusive relationships as “broken homes.”

Probably the most widely known RP trope, the “blue piller,” is a great example. A man who’s deeply committed to the idea that being a pushover is an important part of a relationship - often in reflection of (or in opposition to) his parents’ own unhealthy dynamic.

I’d actually say one of the major upsides of the “red pill” philosophy is that it can give men from inadequate upbringings - who don’t otherwise have the proper tools - the ability to develop healthy instersexual relationship skills. Of course, it tends to be a sort of “fake it till you make it” strategy, and unfortunately a lot of guys never get past the “faking it” stage.

I've spoken to over 1,000 Red Pillers over the last ~5-years and there is absolutely a connection. Most of the men I spoke to were raised by narcissistic parent(s), generally fit under the "Adult Child" category (/r/AdultChildren), were generally considered loners or losers, and/or are on the spectrum and/or were Borderline themselves. The promise of a 'better life', better connections, burned by a personality disordered ex, and more sex is what attracted most of them. (I have unofficial numbers, so there is no possibly of a good study or anything, but the info is pretty good.)

It is correlated and the correlation is most likely strong but the golden rule of statistics and correlation research is correlation does not equal causation and is mostly used to see if their is a relationship which will then be tested experimentally to measure cause and effect results.

A lot of red pill men I’ve met had cold or unaffectionate mothers (also usually abusive). A lot of men with violent urges towards women share this, though it’s interesting that women with similar mothers are not nearly as likely to be violent.

Edit: this is not to shame men with bad maternal relationships, I just recognize and relate to the pain it causes

I think TRP is a bit like the extreme end of radical feminism, I think it is a trauma response. It's easy when abused by a particular type of person (like men or women) to get into black and white thinking i.e. "all women are soulless harpies". In fact I think our primative brain is primed for this and it takes real work to resist it after trauma. I would expect an above average number of these men had mothers who had some kind of inappropriate or abusive parenting behavior. For women I think it's mostly rape that makes them have an extreme trauma reaction to hate men, having an abusive or absent father isn't enough by itself to make women hate men generally in my observation. For men I think that having a severe attachment issue from childhood can prime them to find seeking a relationship and the vulnerability of that position extremely challenging because emotionally it's kind of like seeking after that mothers love again. Just an idea I have.

Certainly fits for my friend who is redpill adjacent. Parents divorced when he was young, had to deal with younger siblings picking sides, had to see through bullshit, raised by his dad (who's a cop). Always been suspicious, on the defensive, and prone to conspiracy theories (not like flat earth but soy and testosterone stuff). He's got a good heart and his family is more cohesive now, but that childhood trauma helped shape him I believe. Getting a stable relationship with a good person certainly helped him develop and grow, but the last two years have also brought some setbacks in his views

Definently happend to me. A factor of being taunted for not having a girlfriend was a factor aswell.

My sister is well known psychiatrist with her consulting mostly kids adhd issues. There is strong correlation between aggressive children and their abusive upbringing. I always told my friends and even my no.1 standard in men is dating who isn’t from abusive family.

When I as volunteering for low income kids who came from neglectful parents, they were difficult to deal with than normal kids. Lot of them became troubled teens.

I’ve never met RP men in reality since I can distinguish when a man is from abusive household and not even if he doesn’t talk about it. I also wrote this on FDS. Avoid men from abusive household at all cost.
