I worry more broadly for any young person whose socialisation is primarily screenbased: whose only experience of watching people interact might be through watching fictionalised interactions in TV shows and movies. There are a lot of very poorly and absently parented young people who can't read body language, understand social nuance or engage with their peers and adults around them because they've been raised by the internet, games and their TVs.

Oh yes, I just had a dude make a statement in another sub saying that feminists want to enslave men. Meaning they want to bring slavery back and make men their slaves. I'm no feminist but that sounds extremely delusional for someone to either make or believe in that kind of statement.

How many online rabbit holes did have to go into in order to believe in such a crazy statement? Completely out of touch with reality, must've spent many hours online with other individuals who are just as frustrated with the opposite sex to accept a delusion as a reality.

I was proto-red pill in college before TRP existed and can confirm that yes I did. Myspace was the big thing then (pre-Facebook, pre-Youtube, pre-Reddit, fuck I'm old) and the internet was where I curated my identity and vented rage and found things to keep me stuck in an anger loop. The people I knew and mutual acquaintances saw every bit of it happening, which made them keep their distance. That made things so much worse since I felt like I was being ostracized through no fault of my own. It's a bad loop to get stuck in.

Nobody talks like Redpillers, incels or MGTOWers in real life. If they did people would laugh at them.

People laugh at them here too, but because it's the internet, moderators can ban those laughing within their imaginationspace and preserve their feelings. This is why they have their own little quarantined spaces, to be able to cosplay in virtual space without being shamed by normal people laughing at their insane bullshit.

People who think in TRP ideology also have a lot of problems in real life. You will never meet a calm, happy, chill Redpill guy with a mature social life. They're all high-strung on opinions and spewing rhetoric and trying reeeeaaal hard to convince others how well TRP worked out for them.

LPT: You can be ripped and lift all day and still be a shut-in basement-dweller with emotional health problems and crippling socialization issues.

On the internet definitely. The big reason why me and I’m sure many others are in this sub now is because we started talking to real life people about real life things. I just wish I could somehow teleport myself into all of their lives not on the internet and just have a conversation every couple of days. I wish I could do something more than hope they just wake up one day from this cult we call the red pill

I don’t think I was ever RP’d, closest I probably came was being part of NoFap for like a year and a half, but I think there’s something to be said for the noninternet media in the manosphere. A lot of pickup artists (and plenty of more loosely affiliated alt-righters) have their own books, youtube channels, chatrooms and other things. But maybe that drives home the point even more: even if you’re reading one of their books, you’re still stuck in that world and are likely discussing what you are consuming with others online.
