I had a history of mental health issues(depression) that I didn’t really get checked and I went through a breakup so I guess both of those made me end up to find it. Didn’t really become RP though cause I figured out how bad it is.

I dated a woman who was a borderline narcissist (though I didn’t know it at the time). Pretty much red pill was a way for me to survive the relationship for as long as I did. It was the only way I could stand my ground and push a little back against the manipulation and abuse. During the relationship the only person I hung out with was my ex and after the relationship ended and being around other men who claimed to be “red pilled” for the first time, I realized how flawed and disgusting the ideology was by principle.

I wandered the internet, i was struggling at one point everyone was getting a relationship but me, and i was worried about my dating life, and i watched too many alt-right videos, and decided to browse the internet and i discovered "The Redpill" I remember saying "all girls love chad and tyrone" and the youtube algorithim got flooded with RP/MGTOW content, and i subbed to every channel, and was guilty of having redpill tactics. I even tried to "Score with a plate" to prove in an "alpha male" major cringe.

I remember in 2019, i started disagreeing with them on topics such as "men and women can't be friends" because i had tons of good platonic relations with women, and were friends with them and i enjoyed their company. I immediately got called a Beta cuck for it, and i slowly started distancing myself from the community. One day i stumbled across this subreddit, and it opened my mind and view. I grew out of the rage stage, and i unsubbed from manosphere content and certain subreddits, and i've been alot better now.

Redpill used to be about self-improvement, now it's become an anti-women circlejerk and they claim that "Men aren't emotional" but they complain and whine about women 24/7 instead of doing something about it, thats mostly MGTOW though.

I voted just to see what the counts were. I am not surprised that the "lack of success in dating" is the leader and seems to be double -- if not almost 4 times as much as the other categories.

For myself and another Male friend, we both had quite traumatic and unexpected break up.

As in, a week before they are future faking/everything is fine telling you they love you, then they break up telling you they’re need space/they are not ready for a relationship, then they are on tinder less than a week later.

Attempting to understand the sudden discard is tough, a lot of internalised “what did I do wrong, j was being so nice to her?” Followed by “clearly I was being too nice, I should have play games/made her jealous/ignored her texts to keep her” combined with generalising “well clearly this is how all women are” and a degree of mistrust with the next woman.

I would say in my situation, my ex was a narcissist, who love bombed and discarded me when she went back to uni and started getting attention elsewhere.

For my friend, his first girlfriend was simply a shitty person, lazy, impatient, wanted kids. They didn’t break up but instead became room mates, then she ran off with a slightly older guy who gave her kids and wifed her up for an easy life. She monkey branched because she’s a shitty selfish person.

As for his second break up, she simply wasn’t over her ex of 10 years, she left to go back to him as they had a kid together. He didn’t do anything wrong, she emotionally transferred her feelings from the ex on to him then went back to the ex.

Similar thing happens with my ex, she was on the rebound we had an intense relationship, she started hanging out, studying, going to uni, working, with a male/feminine-acting gay (maybe bisexual?) friend who she had much more in common with, she just replaced me with him. I don’t know if they slept together but she never had time for me over him despite saying she loved me then broke it off.

I don’t know, some people are just shitty. They’re angry about the break up. TRP offers a temporary outlet to that anger, and provides logical sounding answers that men seek to women’s emotional behaviour.

However TRP fails to acknowledge sexuality as a spectrum, feminine traits and contrasts can be attractive to most women (a lot of women do emotionally love gay men), and borders too much on abusive tactics such as jealousy which are prone to backfire.

There are certain things like self improvement, having an abundance mindset, not trying to “flog a dead horse” / having the self respect to walk away and leave her alone when it’s over, only deal with women that are receptive and make an effort, appreciating/expecting that relationship are volatile and prone to ending unexpectedly - which are admirable and non toxic however.

Exposure to RedPill social media definitely put ideas in my head that I otherwise might not have formulated on my own, but I was only there in the first place because I was seeking out help due to my failure to attract women. So ultimately, it was my lack of dating success that pushed me down that road.

What changed was when I found out that some of the edgy/shitlord RedPill takes were in fact unironic, which horrified and disgusted me. Redpillers truly are misogynistic, like, Elliot Rodgers level.

I first formally learned of TRP (though I was arguably redpilled informally long before discovering the online community) through Rich Cooper's videos. It was either a video on MGTOW or business/entrepreneurship advice.

YouTube (YT) algorithm took me there.

I was originally doing searches for Ghosting after I had ghosted a woman for years due to a long (2 yrs) of getting the hot/cold treatment and then finally breaking things off. For context there were genuine cultural clash reasons for the hot/cold treatment. I wasn't ghosting to punish but needed the space move on. But I felt bad about it and wanted to know more about the psychology behind the decision and the outcomes.

Ghosting vids were helpful but led to "how to be confident" type vids which touched upon topics I use everyday for business, this led to vids on 'stoicism' which led me to 'better bachelor'.

At first 'better bachelor' seemed to have some good ideas but as I watched more I started to feel less aligned to the content. YT also threw up a whole bunch PUA and MGTOW vids that were clearly a bunch of a**holes suffering from superiority/inferiority complexes. Some were worse than others but many were just plain cringy/embarrassing.

Then I came across Jordan Peterson, some really interesting clinical psychology stuff there but didn't like his political views at all.

There were also a whole bunch of mentos in cola vids that popped up - I have no idea what the connection was but YT obviously felt it was important for me to see them.

I chose Other but to be specific mine was being overlooked by most females in the area I live in, my interactions with females and the interactions other guys have had with females whether it was a female I wanted and tried to get with or not so with each encounter I choose to view it as a learning opportunity

As someone who isn't RP formally but likes some of their ideas, and is currently able to listen to RP stuff while filtering out the more extreme stuff, I would say that resentment of woke culture draws a lot of men in. I think well meaning attempts to make "feminist allies" out of men and training them to walk on eggshells so as to never say anything negative EVER about a female lest they be branded a misogyny apologist frustrates men, understandably. We hear a lot about toxic masculinity and how that has led to really bad things historically (and now) BUT we don't hear a lot about female entitlement or female vanity on the other side of the coin.

What irritates me is that there is this current attempt to kind of exempt women from human nature. You can't talk about the subtle and sophisticated ways in which women manipulate men (or other women), and you can't talk about how women can be quite shallow in their own right and make massively shitty decisions about who to date at times. That's the thing about political correctness: it feed the very extreme communities you want to avoid. Steven Pinker talks about how when you have a controversial question bubbling up in the minds of regular people like "Are there evolutionary differences between men and women?" And the academy and Hollywood and mainstream culture says "Shhhhh, don't ask that, that's badddd" people still look for an answer and the only people offering it are often ACTUAL misogynists. So I think a lot of men have the sense that they aren't being given the balanced truth about things.
