Not an evolutionary scientist or anything, but a woman who has given birth has shown that she is a strong member of the species, by just surviving such a physically demanding ordeal.

In the history of homo sapiens, the most common form of death for a female, used to be childbirth. So, having a 'chaste' woman, was no guarantee that she or her first child would live to procreate your family; odds were against her. Yes, a woman's body changes once it has given birth, but that makes for better chances of more children being born in the future. There's a reason, that in some cultures, it is a compliment to say a woman has 'child-bearing hips'.

So most of that data comes from studies that were paid for and produced by Institute for Family Studies (https://ifstudies.org). Upon a quick google and Wikipedia search (and reading more on their website) you will see that the institution is a right-wing, conservative, Christian organization and isn’t a true academically/scientifically backed organization.

When reviewing research, it’s important to check out who is sponsoring/finding the research because those people will ultimately get to push their own agenda and will only publish what fits their own narrative. That’s why research studies have so much over-site in all the steps and need to be peer reviewed. Since these studies are being published on their own organizations website, they can bypass the peer reviewed portion and basically publish whatever they want to push their own agenda.

Of course a conservative organization is funding “studies” that “prove” promiscuity and sex before marriage is bad. RP takes this and applies it only to women because their whole ideology revolves around cherry picking only whatever benefits them.

Understanding how to read and interpret research studies is a 100% full proof way not to fall into RP bullshit. Too bad not everyone can pay thousands of dollars to take classes on research stats and methodology.

Honestly I think men and women dislike promiscuity equally in a partner. Simply put men might be worried a child isn’t theirs and women might be worried their man will produce some offspring with other women.

a) men and women are a little different on average in the emotional consequences of 'body-count.

b) anedotally plenty of women who have a new guy every week one day find a man they bond to.

c) also anecdotally plenty of men who are sucessful with dating many women end up settling with one long term

d) anedotally many men who were effectively incels for their teens and twenties, who get married around 30 then discover they are getting a lot of attention from women when they get to their late 30s and 40s end up cheating to make up for over a decade in the wilderness.

e) anedotally many men who are experienced sexually prior to marriage don't feel the urge to cheat later in the marriage.

f) as the song goes, the first love is the deepest. Love bonds get a little shallower each time after the first, subject of course to circumstances. this is good for long term love bonds for both men and women. In mens case this makes him a little less desparate for his partner to like him, which is usefull for her tendencty to respect him. In my experience girls love a guy who could cheat, but won't. I suppose if you're determined to find equalism between sexes you could say guys like a girl who other men would love to cheat with, but can't because she is loyal to him. Loyal women stay in long term relationships, thus have low body counts.

g) evolution loves us to reproduce, women have a better chance if they convice a guy it's his kid so he'll help protect and feed it. That's why evolution prefers the appearance of chastness in women.

h) if a man sleeps around, his woman doesn't have uncertainty if the kid she gives birth to is hers or not. It is definitely hers by virtue of coming out of her. Thus she is less likely to care who he fucks as long as he believes the baby is theirs and will look after it. If he is a real badass maybe he can provide for a whole harem and she'll have comany.

They base male chastity being valued on the theory that the females will expect their son to inherit the same behavior of the parent that leads him to spread his genes further, in this case his promiscuity and preselection. It happens in some animals, the question is if it's valid in humans, which so far hasn't been shown the case even with genetic testing.
