I've always thought it was about pain.

There's a core reality to love that there is no way to have all the good and wonderful things without taking on the accompanying pain. Everyone leaves. Everyone gets left. Every boyfriend or girlfriend is going to break up with you someday and move on with someone else and be happy with them. Every friendship is going to end. Every relative you love is someday going to die. There is no having without loss. There is no trying without rejection.

Most people are okay with that, they have come to terms with the fact that those two forces are really just different sides of the same coin. Losing is what makes having worth it in the first place, and the temporary nature of happiness is what gives it the wonder and magic it posesses.

Pill culture (red, black, fds, mgtow, what have you) tends to focus on attracting people who are in pain and not coping with it. The pain of failed relationships, the pain of rejection, of jealousy, of defeat, of loneliness. It tells people that if you just did it this way, thought about it that way, and accept these "fundamental truths" then you'd have a sure-fire way to do this without the pain you're experiencing. It also makes the case that if you're in pain, it's your own fault. You must be doing it wrong.

There's no such thing as the blue pill, but if you take it as just the opposite or the absence of red pill thought, it has a really terrible sale's pitch. Everything is complicated and unpredictable, having the things you want is largely down to chance and more out of your control than anything else, most things end and fall apart, you can't control how people treat you and you can only leave in response, and you have to just keep opening your big, fragile heart and inviting in people who might stomp all over it and break it over and over. Who wants to hear that? Who wants that to be true? It sounds pretty terrible. Who doesn't want to hear that you can follow this ten point plan to make woman love you unconditionally and never leave you and submit to your whims and you can control it and everything will be beautiful and nothing will hurt?

Of course, that doens't happen. You're always on the way to those results, but you never arrive. And when you inevitably fail, you're told that it is your fault, you did it wrong. Since the whole thing is predicated on avoiding pain, there aren't good lessons in accepting pain, moving through it and past it, and how to actually deal with the inevitable loss that runs through the entirety of the human experience. So people get tired of waiting and they burn out and they don't like the person they've twisted themselves into along the way, but those ideas are buried pretty deep and it's pretty hard to go back and unwind them.

People want easy answers to difficult questions

People have the difficult question of 'Why does no one want me?'. Redpill claims to have the answers. Of course they're false answers, but people believe them anyways

Well it is true that many men are having difficulties in the dating market. Red pill gives people an analysis they think makes sense and which subtly exonerates them of all responsibility for there relationship failures.

If a woman doesn't choose you she is getting ran through.
Your failures are genetic and you can't change (Chad, Tyrone etc)
The women will come back to you when they are old and used up etc when in reality they usually just settle down.

Just a lot of justification.

Bunch of men who have experienced rejection, trauma, all turn to the internet for comfort. The problem is that the Redpill preys on insecure men, and radicalizes them into angry misogynistic guys who hate women, and men that support them.

Bunch of bitter losers who can't get over themselves.

My personal theory is that a lot of Red Pill guys are on the autism spectrum or are just otherwise socially illiterate, and the Red Pill offers them the logical sounding systematic framework for understanding human social interactions with the opposite sex they've been longing for. It also gives them an excuse to give up on dating without feeling like failures by reinterpreting it all as a trick question they never had a chance at getting correctly in the first place.

It taps into that “I’m special and intellectual” adolescent mindset we all have deep down - like you’re one of the few people who bothered to find out the “unfortunate truth” rather than settling for the lies spoonfed to the masses. In reality it’s just another set of delusional lies being sold to lonely or angry men by grifters to pacify their insecurities, and life’s most complex questions (why people are the way they are) don’t have simple answers.

They do try to say their answers aren’t ”simple” but their ideology really just condenses down to “women are mostly a hivemind of fickle, semi-conscious animals who live and make decisions completely at the mercy of their own primal biology and are pre-programmed to like certain things, here’s how you can change yourself to fit those things/manipulate them to your advantage”

There is an aura. Its called the get no tail aura. You'll run off every woman known to men because women dont like angry dudes.
