I am a MGTOW and have viewed this subreddit to challenge my beliefs; as we all know, you have to expose yourself to ideas that conflict with your own in order to truly tell if you are going where you think you are.

What I find most common among you guys' problem with the manosphere/redpill/whatever, is the people who continuously comment negatively about women, about being the victim, etc. Even the MGTOW subreddit is guilty of this; however, this is simply a natural reaction - the griefing process (DABDA). Men who have been shafted go through what is called "red pill rage," or the anger phase of DABDA, which we can either recover from by accepting reality for what it is, or allowing it to consume us and perpetuate the anger.

I think Cassie Jaye's (director of 'The Red Pill') summaries of "red pill" and "MGTOW" are the most accurate way to view the nature of each lifestyle. Redpillers seek to exploit the system, while MGTOWs seek to abandon the system. Those who remain trapped in "red pill rage" should not be labeled as either, since they are technically still going through the process; they've never reached the acceptance stage to truly become one or the other.

I was no different; I went through my "red pill rage" phase as well, but when confronted with true unequal treatment at work, I was slapped in the face with life basically saying, "what are you going to do about it?" I made the choice that true MGTOWs picked and accepted that people (not simply a men/woman thing) are treated differently, life is unfair, and no matter who tries to strike you down, you just have to get back up, not look back, and keep moving forward. I chose to become a MGTOW because of all my family members and friends who were "dealt a bad hand," and chose to make the proactive decision of not worrying about relationships and instead focusing on building myself.

Now you may be wondering why even though I accept reality for what it is, I choose to opt out of the dating game. The answer to that is simple; with the way the dating game is, it's the equivalent of what happens to anyone who is given power, whether man, woman, or child. A woman today has to have tremendous discipline (more than a man) to keep herself from deviating from a life of honesty and loyalty, to a life that actively encourages her to stab her partner in the back for monetary gain; a good woman today can become a bad woman tomorrow. As long as our society actively encourages that behavior, I choose to not participate in relationships. I use my MGTOW mindset to teach the people around me about the absolute importance of self-discipline and self-improvement, rather than use it in a toxic manner to bring others down.
