Are you an empathetic person? Some of us worry a bit too much about how we come off even when we're doing nothing wrong. It sucks. Half a semester is plenty of time to ask someone out.

With that said, if you meet in person, why ask someone out in text?

What you should look for is to have known her enough to be interested in her (and not a fantasy you made) and that she has the ways to avoid you in case she finds it uncomfortable. And of course, remember that "no" is a complete sentence and requires no justification.

If you have to work together, I'd wait until the end of semester; it's fine if it's easy to do with other classes.

Sounds like a pretty normal build up of interaction and you probably know each other as friendly acquaintances fairly well by now?

I assume you feel this way because you're worried that that's what you're doing. It's a fear thought rather than a rational one. That's fine, emotions are rarely rational. You just get to decide how you act on them - sounds like you took the step to ask her out anyway (well done!) and now you just wait to see what she says. If she says no, accept it with grace, you felt something and she didn't, that happens (however you feel is ok, we can't control how we feel, only how you act based on them - so if you feel sad or angry etc, still act with grace). If she says yes, cool.

Don't overthink it and don't be afraid of rejection. Seems to me like you're doubting yourself because you're afraid she will say no, don't it happens to all of us. As long as you went with your gut and gave it your best shot you have nothing to worry about either way.
