absolutely true, although “failed to get her” plays a bit into the “woman as prize/reward” narrative that should be questioned. sometimes we’re just not interested - not because the dude “failed” or should try harder or doesn’t deserve the reward that is his woman of choice - but because we’re not interested and “no” is a complete sentence.
