There is no handling. If it's not what you want, and he's unwilling or incapable, you don't have to squish, smother, react differently or feel differently. You don't like it, don't tolerate it. This guy isn't the one for you.

I was stuck in a relationship like this for 3 years. Please, get out of this relationship. My sense of self and confidence hit rock bottom because I thought I wasn’t worthy of love and „too clingy“. Honestly I felt sad for some time after I broke it off, but looking back now it was the best decision ever! There’s so many people out there who will appreciate you for who you are and want to return the affection you give them. Don’t settle for less and think you deserve it! Best of luck!

Let him go and find someone more compatible. Someone that doesn't need or want affection either. But I have a feeling if the tables were turned, he'd be upset. If you suddenly stopped needing affection from him (and you will for self preservation if he keeps turning you down), I'm willing to bet he will start complaining. Then as soon as you trust him enough to start giving him that affection back, he will start withdrawing again. Push/Pull in action. It could be some kind of intimacy avoidance problem that only therapy or sincere self awareness will fix.

It's absolutely not bad to want affection. There are plenty of guys who are affectionate and you do not have to settle for one who isn't.

Did you read the story about the woman who married a man with a small dick? That will be you in 10 years, if you stay with him. Any time you compromise on deal breakers like sexual and emotional compatibility, you're setting your self up for failure in the future.

It sounds like you both have different love languages. As someone with physical affection as my primary love language I would be totally miserable with someone who's not affection or practically allergic to it. This guy sounds really bad for you. Get out. There are plenty of guys out there.
