That’s one of the most considerate gifts I think I’ve ever seen anyone get anyone. I couldn’t imagine losing my best friend. She def sounds like she has a keeper.

A thoughtful gift would be amazing. It means he listened to my interests, thought about my wants and needs and went out of the way to get something specific for me. That would make me feel special.
Instead my ex would get me some junk that popped up on a Facebook ad. I have specific hobbies and a long list of saved items on Amazon, but he got me a glittery pink phone case for the wrong size phone. I hate pink. I hate glitter. I hate junk. Just think of me!! Meanwhile I would get things specific to his hobbies, like hiking boots and mountain biking gear. I felt so stupid.
Edit: I’d like to offer an example of this fuckery. We watched Back to the Future together and I was into the movie. Years later for Xmas, he got me the Delorean toy car. A toy car for a grown woman from a movie I don’t even watch all the time. So confused.
