Many of y’all have mentioned horrendous experiences dating a mommy’s boy. Please share your story below to warn other women about getting involved with one.

To be clear, by mommy’s boy, we don’t mean a normal man who loves his mother. We mean someone who is unhealthily enmeshed with his mother, (emotionally or financially) dependent on her, and consults her before making any decision. His mother’s wishes come before yours and his.

It is a myth that how a man treats his mother is how he will treat you. If she or him are narcissists, or they are emotionally enmeshed, you will never have a chance. Just see /r/JUSTNOMIL.

The mommy’s likes to pretend he is an autonomous individual who has his shit together, but he is wholly influenced by his mom. If you get in a relationship with him, he will triangulate you with her, and you will never be the priority in his life.

He will compare you to her, and you will never be good enough for the two.

The mommy’s boy is very committed to the Madonna/whore complex, and sees his mom as the only Madonna.

He will never be emotionally available to you as long as he’s mentally married to his mom. Therapy is extremely unlikely to improve this situation, as his brainwashing began in childhood.

They pretend to be high-value Mommy’s boys may have stable jobs and/or places, cars, and other material things, thanks to their parents. They may be able to take you out on nice dates, using their parents’ money. They may seem confident and self-adjusted, because their parents are always hyping them up.

They may seem romantic and sweet, but that’s because their moms have conditions them by making them emotional spouses/surrogate husbands. It is all a facade-mommy’s boys are not HVM.They are not even single.

A mommy’s boy can not offer you true commitment, consistency and love. There’s no room for three in a relationship. Women who have fallen victim to being in relationships with mommy’s boys often say they feel like a mistress because their SO always runs back to his mommy, who he loves the most.

Red flags would be talking about his mother too much, calling her multiple times a day, weird/strained/nonexistent relationship with his father, being enabled by parents, being financially dependent, living at home, seeming to be more eager to spend time with her than you, saintly unrealistic image of his mother, childish behavior, lack of accountability, flakiness.

Avoid mommy’s boys!
