This isn't about dating but it is about teaching men how to treat you right.
So many months ago, before I ever knew about FDS and when my self-esteem wasn't the best, my family and I had a dinner with some extended family. So at one point in the dinner, I was (very briefly) explaining my thoughts on what we were discussing. I was the only one talking, everyone else was quiet, and when I was clearly mid-sentence one of the male guests (technically my 'uncle') interrupted me and started ranting facing the other people about something unrelated. It was so freaking rude and embarrassing. I muttered to myself "okay, well..." and I left the table.
So, fastforward to today. We invite the same people over. I'm explaining something to the whole table, and this man again interrupts me in the middle of the explanation and starts talking to the other people. This time I'm like hell nah, I stop him and I say "Sorry, but I don't like people interrupting me." There was silence for a few seconds, then I continued my explanation and he started enthusiastically agreeing with me aka kissing my ass.
I realize it's something very small but getting interrupted is one of my pet peeves because it's so disrespectful and shows complete disregard for the other person.
Do you have any stories on when you had to enforce some boundaries with people?
