Oh my god. This was how I grew up - what I absorbed. That somehow, all the sacrifices and ‘suffering’ OF MINE were required, but it’d be worth it in the end when someone finally noticed and would care for me the way I was caring for everyone else.

NOPE. That’s not how it works.

It took me until March of this year to work that out, and it’s one of the hardest life lessons I’ve had to learn.

Choosing me first takes a whole lot of practice, but I’m getting there. 💕

You’ll stop resenting others with this mindset too.. like “how could they let me down by doing XY??” Level yourself up instead and let others deal with themselves. Worry about yourself first, it’s what everyone else is doing🌞

Yes, very much needed post! I just blocked a guy on all platforms bc he continuously put his friends over me. He would never inconvenience himself for me, he never made time for me, and the best he could do was fit me in somewhere in his schedule. I told him I wanted to see him and basically he rather play golf the bros.

It’s no point in beating a dead horse so it’s best to remove yourself from the situation.
