Story one:

You and your boyfriend are sitting in his apartment. It’s 9 pm and you suddenly realize, “wow, I’m hungry.”

He looks up from his phone. “Hungry? Order something.” He looks back down.

You blink. Well, you’re a good girlfriend, so... you ask: “are you hungry?”

“No. I ate before you came.”

So you order food, for yourself, and to add insult to injury he steals some of your food. 🤡🤡🤡

Okay, depressing. Time for story two:

You’re on the phone with your boyfriend. The conversation is wrapping up, and you suddenly remember, “love, you always hang up so quickly. It’s like, bye - bzzt - you’re gone.”

“Ah!” He nods and explains his mother was a surgeon and would always hang up just like that.

You laugh and move on. It doesn’t actually bother you. It’s a funny contrast from his sweet, gentle personality.

Yet, the next day when he calls you again, you say goodbye and he gives you a bunch of air-kisses until you laugh and air-kiss him back. 💋The next day, you say goodbye and he wishes you sweet dreams and a cozy night. 💫The next day, you say goodbye and he tells you you’re beautiful then counts down, 3, 2, 1, and ends the call. 💞

At first glance, these two stories may seem totally different. They’re actually very similar. In both cases, you express a preference.

Story 1 was my ex, who was selfish and stingy. I have so many clown stories about that one.

Story 2 is my current bf, who is gentle and kind and giving and considerate. Even though the hanging up issue didn’t actually bother me, he picked up on my very very slight preference. He always wants to make me the happiest woman.

Especially, note how he didn’t make grand promises! He didn’t give me pretty words/hot air about how he’ll change for me. He just did it. Look at his actions, not words.

So, does your man care about you? Let him answer that by how he reacts to your preferences.
