I dated in Toronto. Found men were more likely to offer nice dates that involved eating out. The work culture is very intense as I imagine New York’s is, so you’re sure to run into a lot of workaholics.

I lived in NYC for four years and I met my husband in NYC. There are a lot of fuckboys in NYC and also a lot of successful LVM (make them look like HVM). The thing is there are more women than men in NYC and men in NYC just love to ghost, try to just have sex, and in general just awful. Use fds and caution when you are dating in NYC.

I did not know FDS when I was living there so I created my own system. I only consider sex after six dates and guess what most guy in NYC expected sex on the first date. It was literally only one guy that pass my six dates rule and that guy is my husband. Be careful in NYC.

Exercise extreme caution dating in both of these places. They’re known to attract LVM in HVM clothing. They’re delusional and think because they have some money and a bit of status, they can run through women.

I’m sure there’s HVM in both locations but your vetting process will need to be extensive. Do not get into a FWB situation unless you’re ok with getting passed around.

Dated in Toronto, lots of LVM in HVM clothing. Men are very focus on work, can be good depending if they have an idea of where they want to be in 5 years, or it's not a Soundcloud rapper. If they can't tell you where they wanna go career wise but all their time is in studies or work, they're just not developed and will usually disappoint. Lots of men focus on getting big money because they have absolutely nothing else to show for.

Go to date is going out to eat, tons of nice places for cheap, so any sign of "walk" or "coffee" dates are bottom of the barrel LVM. Can be showy and like a "women around the arm" but have no plans to stay with you. Really know what you want in terms of marriage and kids. If they say "I'm not sure yet" that means no.

Watch out for men base "dating bootcamps". If you're out with your girls and a group of men come up asking for numbers or social media and there's a main guy leading them or encouraging the other men it's a scam. The main guy is trying to find hookups for the rest that they'll later ghost you to up their confidence.

Biggest show tale sign in Toronto for HVM is he is willing to give you TIME. His time, away from work, away from going out, being at your side. Too busy? Weird amount of distance? You're a side chick.

I live in NYC. Dating can be hard.

There’s an abundance of men, for sure. But even with the abundance, women outnumber men 2:1.

This leads to a LOT of men never settling down, never wanting to get into serious relationships, serial daters, and men constantly looking for the next new thing.

There are definite positives. I’ve always had high standards so I never put up with bullshit so I almost never experienced the above. I’ve been wined and dined, been asked to accompany dates on business trips to Europe, attended Broadway shows in the best seats, have met and dated powerful/slightly famous men and been all around treated like a queen.

Men in NYC have money, status, power and love to show off. Does that mean they’re all HVM? Nah.. most of them are LVM just dressed up.

When it came to actually settling down, I feel like many of my friends opted to move away from the city to find something that would be long lasting and serious.

I will say that dating was definitely fun and an adventure. I’m engaged now so I’m out of that scene. But I do have plenty of stories and all around it was interesting.
