Does Anyone Else Do an "Arm's Length" Calculation in Public?

It's wild to me that as women, these are things we all do. Lock the doors to your car the second you're inside, check backseats, keep an eye out behind you, mentally note men in public (what they're wearing, height, hair color, etc.), lie about living alone, park only in well-lit areas, send someone your Uber ride info, and on and on. These are things men don't even have to think about. How in the world they can even lie to themselves enough to believe they're the ones oppressed is beyond me.

I like this safety tip, and I'll be using it from here on, thank you. ☺️

I don't even think about it, but I notice when a stranger is moving in a way that indicates they're going to come close enough to touch me (especially if intentionally targeted) and I scrutinize males more critically.

It depends on my location and the time of day.

In a store/restaurant/public place during the day I only tend to pay attention to someone if they're paying attention to me, I do notice pretty quickly if someone is looking at me or in my proximity.

If I'm just walking down the street in broad daylight I take note of the men around me. If I'm walking down the street at night I am scanning everyone who else is out on the street period.
