Here's the thing: she's probably going to have a dozen people tell her "you're dating a man with a kid, his son comes first, you knew this."

That doesn't mean he shouldn't have basic decency, respect, and empathy, though. It's completely unreasonable and unfair to expect someone to be an on-call girlfriend when it's convenient for you.

She needs to just get out because there's no hope here. If he can't see how he didn't approach the situation well, he's never going to understand.

I'm not pissed about cancelling plans. Shit happens, you know? I'm pissed that he is telling her how she should and should not be feeling about it. Fuck off with that shit.

But, let me say this. I dated a man like this. Always canceling, or never making advance plans. It was infuriating. Well, turns out he was still with sleeping with the mother of his children. I found out because she called me one day and said her son said I spent the night ( she and I know each other). He was lying to us both.
