I’ve watched a show with a similar premise called ‘Don’t Tell the Bride’. The groom would be given the responsibility of planning the wedding, right down to selecting the bride’s dress. Can’t tell you the number of times the brides would be in tears upon seeing their dress or on their wedding day because the groom managed to screw it up so bad.

Many years ago, during the 60s, my aunt dumped her fiancé because he impulsively bought an Alfa Romeo just prior to the wedding. JUST prior, as in, our entire family had flown from the US to France to attend this wedding. Oof!

So I agree that him not telling her is awful - thats not a partnership. Money spent on the wedding should absolutely be agreed together.

But the bouncy castle - I'd love! My dream wedding would be childfree, posh garden party style, and adult bouncy castles and a ball pool! You're never too old to have fun, and having a proper laugh with my closest friends sounds like a great part of my wedding day.

Each to their own of course - I'd never suggest it's the right thing for everyone.

Also there's an awesome event that tours the UK that is basically a giant bouncy castle race course! Called The Monster obstacle course. I've done it with a bunch of friends (girls night out) and it was one of the best evenings we had, we laughed until we hurt. I'd definitely recommend it, in normal times of course!
