I want to share that although the journey back into dating is not easy it is so worth seeing the results.

I have been going on dates like it's my job (vaccinated, safely outside and with masks).

I always talk on the phone and vet people at a distance. The current climate makes good dates extra unlikely and is extra challenging. Last week I went on the worst date ever! This week I finally had a good one

We often blame ourselves if someone turns out LV on a date. It can feel we don't apply FDS correctly or are doing something wrong. Going on multiple dates has showed me it is often not our fault. We can apply FDS with two men and only one of them would prove to be a good date. It is not always us...Especially when first meeting someone.

Anyway on to why this date was good:

Covid didn't stop him from planning something fun and creative. He was also the one concerned with my safety the whole time we were out.

He treated me like a real gentleman and was very caring and kind. He made sure I was comfortable and asked me what I wanted and needed at all times. He showed genuine intrest in my opinions and dreams. Goes without saying, he payed for the date and made sure I got home safely.

He planned the date a week ahead. Confirmed it with me beforehand and made sure it was what I wanted. He also kept physical distance that I find is respectful to expect.

It was so refreshing to see actions of genuine care and concern. I felt very safe and like I could be myself. Such a huge contrast to the constant fear pain and anxiety of my last relationship.

I don't know if this might uplift anyone but on average a good date is one in seven.

If it is safe for you I really find it helps to date as many people as you can. It really helps you learn setting standards and knowing what you want.

Bad dates are awesome opportunities to practice FDS and good dates are fun.

Don't settle for less!
