I don’t think marriage is that big of a deal but 10 years as a girlfriend is just awful (unless you’re significantly richer than him and you must protect your assets e.g Oprah)

I would never live with a man before an engagement or marriage, nor would I wait like that for a man to decide he wants to marry me. I dont care about a ring, I dont want one (I work with my hands). Im almost 50 and life is too short to spend years and years and years waiting for somebody to be ready to marry me. That just has to feel like shit. I couldn't subject myself to that.
