lmao I've had more than 86% of my peers apparently. Most were in a two-month stretch when I was on the mend from a horrific breakup. Other than that I've been monogamous with one partner for two different three year (so far) stretches.

It just goes to show how the numbers don't matter. I had three relationships, one FWB and a one night stand, yet my sex life was almost nonexistent except a few brief periods.

I’m 26 years old, and have apparently had more sex than 96% of my peers (I entered the number of partners at 25, counting FWBs and ONS). I think this calculator is bullshit—people probably self-report a lower number than they actually have. I actually stopped counting so it might be +/- but the point stands. I’ve come to the conclusion that my number is meaningless and arbitrary as a data point in my life, and in dating. It says nothing about who I am as a person, about my worth or my integrity. I am no longer interested in casual sex but I will not judge my past self for engaging in that kind of behavior in my early twenties. There’s no use in that, it happened and I can’t change it even if I’ve modified my behaviour and attitude towards casual sex. I have never judged other women for their sex lives, whether they choose to pursue casual or serious relationships, and I refuse for to judge myself.

In the past, I have shared my number with a partner once, and my number was much higher than his; it made me feel self-conscious and I actually lowballed the number to make him feel better. Another partner once sent me a meme about girls having their numbers in 20+ being a red flag, which made me deeply uncomfortable, though we never outright discussed it. After that, I decided this is no longer a topic of discussion with partners and, if asked, I will decline to answer because of the judgement that might ensue. I plan to say it’s none of their business moving forward.

As long as I’m clean, it’s none of their business how many partners I’ve had in the past and if they ask, I now see it as a red flag. If they push, it’s over. Why would they want to know, unless they wanted to compare and judge?

Do people count just oral or just hand stuff? There’s no standard listed so the numbers will be all over the place.

Anyway! I don't EVER EVER tell them my sexual past. When asked, I try to distract and divert from it, but when pressed further, I tell them that I've had 1 ex that I was engaged to in the past, and then leave it at that.

Sometimes, I say I've had 2 exes and leave it at that !

NEVER EVER EVER TELL THEM ABOUT YOUR SEXUAL PAST. IF YOU INSIST ON SAYING SOMETHING, SAY YOU'VE HAD 1 OR 2 GUYS, CHOOSE YOUR BEST 2, AND LEAVE IT AT THAT.
