I’m glad you’re having a better experience dating but please do not let your guard down or immediately assign him HVM status. “we haven’t been dating for so long” = you don’t know if he’s “the One.” Determining if he is high value takes a lifetime of vetting and in my opinion the only “the one” in a HVW’s life is herself. You also don’t have a good track record of determining quality relationships so without working on yourself there truthfully isn’t a good foundation for you to find your own value. Just be wary, many men start HV but once they get you hooked their true character shows. Look up “love bombing.”

This was stickied on the sub just yesterday or the day before. You can't know if a guy is high value if you haven't been dating very long.

I'm happy that you have found someone that makes you feel good. But you need to continuously vet his behaviour.

But the fact he remembers things you said after just saying it once? That sounds pretty legit, and I'm definitely a little jealous haha. Enjoy him!

I’m glad that you’re happy and the relaxing bath sounds like a really thoughtful surprise!

I just want to caution you tho.. the flowers and chocolates and listening to you.. those are all baseline things a romantic partner should be doing. Listening to you is just a normal human interaction and sets the bar extremely low.

I hope he continues to prove himself kind and caring and HV as your relationship goes on. :)

I’m happy for you but I hate to join in and add possible rain to a parade but stay vigilant. You didn’t state how long y’all have been dating or how you met. Unfortunately it can take years to even spot abusive behaviors so please stay aware.

I don’t want you to feel trapped if it suddenly isn’t so amazing and stay longer “because you don’t want to be wrong or felt like you built their image up to others and now the actions don’t match” (I’ve personally done that before.)

You’ve come out of a previous abusive relationship so it can be easy to see someone do the bare minimum (not saying he is) and feel like you don’t have to worry so much. Any good man should want you to be comfortable, pampered and get you a gift occasionally.

I’ve been there myself. I really want you to experience happy moments and share good experiences with people who treat you well. Just please be aware, make sure you have money set aside (a fuck you fund if you ever might need it) and continue to keep outside friendships.

Not yelling and buying you roses once and running you a bath is not immediate HV status.

Men pretend to be HV for a LONG ASS TIME. All the men I’ve dated have spoiled me above and beyond in the beginning.

It sounds like you’ve raised a few standards and because you found a man who meets those standards, you immediately think he’s the one.
