Back when I hung out with (straight) male friends I noticed their sheer inability to call a man a slut. If a woman was wearing a very short skirt or made out with more than one friend, she would be called a slut in an instant. The latter actually happened in front of me once and I didn't let him call her one without understanding this double standard.

Me: "If a man did the same, would he be a slut?"

Him: "You can't call a man a slut."

Me: "Your ideals are sexist."

He proceeded to justify the accusation by using the lock and key analogy. If a key can open multiple locks then it is a good key. If a lock can open for multiple keys than it's a shitty lock.

Ladies, if they don't realize that their ideals are sexist and instead feel personally attacked THEN THEY ARE SEXIST. If they continue to justify their ideals instead of saying "I never thought of it that way" or "I never realized it would be considered sexist" then he's a lost cause. Don't give these LVM the time of day. A HVM that grew up in a sheltered environment would be open to discourse and identify problematic ideals.

An Analogy

Imagine if this same scrote tried to pull that reasoning with race. Since I'm Hispanic, I'll use this example: Say a Hispanic person walks into a predominately all-white hair salon and tries to get an appointment. No one at the salon helps them. Instead, your friend says "they must be confused". You ask him why this is so. Your friend explains that this is a hair salon for white individuals. At which point you say, "Your ideals are racist".

He explains that prior to the 1960s, owners routinely refused to do business with Hispanics. (This was true in California for Asians and Hispanics btw - they were both not allowed in these salons.) The average rational person, even other men, would be triggered and call the man a racist despite hearing his historical example. THAT WOULD NOT END WELL FOR HIM. Why should we give men a free pass for their long, drawn-out justification for sexism?

We don't give them a free pass to be racist, so we also shouldn't give them a free pass to be sexist.

TLDR: How men react when accused of being sexist determines their overall sentiment towards women. Don't let the patriarchy minimize the issue just because women were only recently important enough to be allowed to pursue their own happiness. Once a man shows his true colors, BELIEVE IT.
