Inspired by a previous post to post more feminist analysis. I (as a radfem) love FDS because the feminism here is in CLASS SOLIDARITY. None of the milquetoast third wave choice feminism bullshit that’s just repackaged patriarchy.

The first one... i feel it in my soul. When feminists(real ones) say that for example prostitution is exploitative(fact) we get accused of denying agency to thise women when in reality its the patriarchy, their pimps, johns, human traffickers who are doing that.

I've thought a lot about my brand of feminism since finding FDS. I would have said before this that I was proudly Libfem; my underlying conviction is My Body, My Choice for all women, even if their choices are self-harming. But choices aren't really choices unless they are informed and are free of coercion. This is the basic legal underpinning of "choice".

Participation in, and support of, things like prostitution, consumption of porn and BDSM that harm not only individual women, but women as a class, are not free and informed choices. From birth, we are bent and trimmed and stunted towards these "liberties" and "choices" like bonsai trees by a patriarchal society that only cares about accommodating the social and sexual wants (not needs) of men. We are made small and pretty and ornamental for their enjoyment and we are told that we wanted this because we looked at a menu of terrible options and these were the options we were permitted to "choose" from.

My Body, My Choice is still the underlying principle of my feminism, but for this to be a true choice, women must explore and consider all of the other options that society hides or shames us away from: no, you DON'T need to have children, or get married, or have a date for the prom. You don't need to have the latest eyebrow trend or wear uncomfortable shoes or laugh at unfunny jokes. You can choose to say No to any or all of these and a thousand other things and say Yes to things you didn't even know you wanted.

Inform yourself. Free yourself from societal coercion. When your choice is made in the full knowledge of your own wants and needs, you will truly be free to choose.

I believe many women will cling to Liberal Feminism because what Radical Feminism exposes about men and how powerless women are in society is simply too daunting and horrific for many women to contemplate.

Easier to live in denial and cling to the illusion of power than be shaken to the core at the realization that every 'empowered' choice you make has been one you've been manipulated into from a limited range of 'options' that society has 'permitted' you have, with the ever present reminder that what freedom' you enjoy can be snatched away at any moment. We live under the ever pervasive threat of "you should be grateful for this, because we could make things so much worse for you (and if you don't keep your mouth shut, we will)."

I encourage you to read a few of the posts and consider contributing, radfem is the only next political wave (*opinion) that can bring about any effective change in society. Since it starts and ends with women and children.

I've done a few posts on Socio-Economics, the monetary system, and I'm starting a new series of posts that analyzes the structure of different governments. The goal of the upcoming series is to analyze which systems work best for women and how to navigate the ones we are currently in to vote to better them. I definitely was too ambitious with my timeline for that tho, so I'm still working on the first one 😅
